The market town of Ringwood with its many shops, cafes and restaurants is a 10 minute journey away. The Cathedral Cities of Salisbury and Winchester are both near and offer wonderful places of historic interest. Take a drive across the wonderful New Forest to the Georgian market town of Lymington, famous for its sailing history, and maybe take the ferry over to the Isle of Wight for a day trip. Visit the Elizabethan Manor House in Breamore or the Beaulieu Motor Museum on the Beaulieu River. River fishing is available on the River Avon and there are several golf courses within a short drive. For the kids there are many wonderful attractions, like Paultons Park, Longdown Activity Farm, Adventure Wonderland and for the more adventurous there is Go Ape at Moors Valley Country Park and the New Forest Water Park offers all water activities including a wonderful cable facility for water skiing and wake boarding. The award winning beaches around Bournemouth are, of course, loved by all the family. Whether you want a bustling beach with deck chairs and ice creams or a quiet one away from the crowds, you can find what you are looking for along our wonderful South Coast.
We are surrounded by great pubs and restaurants. As well as the eateries in nearby towns, we have Les Mirabelles at Nomansland, The 3 Lions at Stuckton and Little Mere is within walking distance of Venards Lodge; all offer 'fine' dining. For an extra special treat, there is always the Chewton Glen or Limewood, both have truly amazing food and offer Spa Days. The local pubs offer good food and most have children's menus. The Royal Oak is a 10 minute walk and The Alice Lisle has a big garden and good children's play area, or cycle across the Forest to the High Corner Inn or the Red Shoot. The Foresters at Hyde has a great atmosphere and serves good pub food.
Obviously, you can just enjoy all the flora and fauna the New Forest has to offer. The walks are wonderful, wildlife enchanting and the people are very special. A warm welcome will be offered wherever you go.
Please ask if you would like any other information about the area, I will be happy to help.
